Billy Fred "Butch" Lewis

Mr. Lewis was born in Brunswick County December 20, 1953 and was the son of the late William “Bill” and Nancy Coe Lewis. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Reuben Earl Lewis and three nephews, Keith Hewett, Scott Hewett, and Jonathan Lewis. Butch enjoyed the outdoors, loved hunting and fishing, and also drag racing. He was a skilled carpenter.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife Cathy Lewis; a daughter, Kimberly Kirby and husband Dewayne of Winnabow, N.C.; two grandchildren, Shannon Kirby and Haley Kirby; a brother, Tommy Lewis and wife Kimberly of Winnabow, N.C.; a sister, Debbie Hester and husband Larry of Bolivia, N.C.; nieces, Tiffany Lewis Scheib and husband Austin, Shawna Christian, Ashley Braswell and husband George; a nephew, Dennis Grant; numerous great nieces and nephews, Emmaleigh, Jonathan Reed, Ashley, Nevaeh, Jaxon, Dylan, Ethan, Marley, Aila, and Nash; father-in-law, George Davis of Bluefield, West Virginia; and Dalton VanSteen, a young man that has been a very important part of Butch’s life for the last five years.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday October 22, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Bowling Family Cemetery, Bolivia, N.C. with Reverend Anthony Clemmons officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home.
