David Stewart Hayes Jr.

David was born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia on July 3, 1965 and was the son of the late David Stewart Hayes, Sr. and Evelyn Strauss Hayes. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Ross. He was an employee of Sturdy Corporation of Wilmington. David was an avid hunter and fisherman and a NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie Sellers Hayes; a son, Hunter Hayes of Leland; nieces, Connie Lynn Lail (Mike) and Molly Ferrell (Madison); nephews, Matthew Miles (Kat Bowen) and Chance Milliken.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 11, 2023 at one o'clock in the afternoon at Elah Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Long officiating. Burial will follow in King Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Madison Ferrell, Jackie Miles, Matthew Miles, Timothy Harrell, Javon Robbins, Jonathan Graham, Tom Briley and Gavin Briley,

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from six o'clock until eight o'clock at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 603 Ocean Hwy., Bolivia.
