

Donald McQueen Campbell, age 80, widower of Anne G. Campbell, passed away into the arms of his Savior on March 30, 2022 at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center in Bolivia. He was born February 12, 1942 in Sumter, SC to the late Joe Lee Campbell, Sr. and Mary Emma Preacher Campbell.
Don was a US Navy Combat Vietnam veteran and an Armed Forces Expeditionary service member from January 1962 to August 1964. He was an engineering technician with Sonoco Products Company and Thermal Engineering Corporation. Don also worked as a sales coordinator with Trane Company Industrial and Commercial Air Conditioning division. He joined Tri-Beach Voluntary Fire Department when he was 55 years old and was a certified FFI and FFII. Don was a security officer until he was 75.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, and all things antique. Don will be remembered as a loving husband, father and friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Lee Campbell, Jr.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Agnes Campbell Dantzler of Augusta, GA; son, Donald M. Campbell, III (Rusty) and wife Erika of Supply, NC; two grandchildren, Parker Campbell and Mallory Campbell; 1 great grandchild, Brantley Campbell.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, at eleven o’clock at Sharon United Methodist Church in Supply, NC. Pastor Jim Pegan officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tri-Beach Fire Department or Brunswick County Senior Resources, Inc.
