Emogene Townsend Tyner

Mrs. Tyner was born September 24, 1933 in Robeson County, daughter of the late Brooks Townsend and Vida Walters Townsend. She was a wonderful Mother, Mother-In-Law, and Nennie/Nanny/Grandma to her kids. A wonderful Christian woman, she loved teaching her children about the Bible and witnessed to everyone. She wanted everyone to love the Lord. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, and sharing old family stories. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Carl Tyner, Sr., daughter, Debbie Tyner Clark, and four siblings, Barbara Hendricks, Faye Moore, Vivian Hilliard, and William Townsend.

Survivors include her son, Carl Tyner and wife Jo Ann of Bolivia; daughter, Jenny Tyner and husband Michael McLaurin of Wilmington; son-in-law, James Clark of Bolivia; six grandchildren, Amy Clark, Carla Tyner, Brooks Tyner, Zachary Tyner, Peyton Hinson, and Paige Hinson; and two great grandchildren, Caleb and Bryson; and one sister Louise Risen of St. Pauls.

Graveside services will be Thursday, April 7, 2022 at twelve o’clock in the afternoon at Bladen Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
