

Mr. Holden was born in Brunswick County, NC on April 29, 1933 and was the son of the late John Thomas Holden and Elneda Fulford Holden. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Breanne Leigh Holden and his siblings, Carol Holden, Odessa “Det” Paden, Eula “Speedy” Sellers, Ella Ray Robinson, Roy Holden Sr. Mr. Holden was a Tug Boat Captain for many years. He was co-owner and operator with his brother, Kellen of H&R Towing. He was a member of union local 25 of operating engineers. Following his retirement as a tug boat captain he enjoyed his time on the coastal waters of Brunswick County as a commercial fisherman. He was a member of Sabbath Home Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Johnson Holden of the home; three children, Larry Wayne Holden of Woodbine, NJ, Donna Marie Fulford and Fiancé’ Cliff Bennett of Supply, Johnny Truman Holden Jr. and wife Julie of Supply; six grandchildren, Mark Thomas, Trey Fulford, Johnny Truman Holden III, Drew Holden, Corey James Holden, Lauren Whitney Holden; four great grandchildren, Mark Thomas III, Kai Thomas, Lily Thomas, Easton Holden; a brother, Kellen Holden of Supply; three sisters, Bobbie “Roxie” Broxton of Charleston, SC, Louise “Webe” Danford, Betty “Bobbie” Ivey, both of Supply.
Funeral services will be held Friday April 10th, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Sabbath Home Baptist Church with Pastor Wade McLamb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, John Earl Johnson, Steven Holden, Eddie Holden, David Holden, Danny Fulford, Joey Holden.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Johnnie Corbett, David Stevens, Gerald Ivey, Jerry Benton, Jim Culpepper.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 603 Ocean Hwy., Supply (formerly Coble Ward-Smith) from 6-9 pm and other times at the residence.
