Lillian Jane Thieme

Mrs. Lillian Jane Ellerbrook Thieme, age 99, of Brunswick Healthcare & Rehab (BHC), Ash, N.C. and formerly of Twin Lakes Community, Burlington, NC, died 2/7/2021 after several months of declining health.

Born on August 15, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Rose Burslem Ellerbrook and Raymond Ellerbrook. At a young age, she moved with her family to Paterson, N.J. She married Robert H. Thieme Sr. in 1941 and enjoyed 67 years of marriage until Robert’s passing in 2009. She lived in Paterson, N.J. until 1968 when they moved to Wharton, N.J. A few years later, the family was transferred through Bell Laboratories to Massachusetts and settled in Atkinson, N.H. After retirement in 1987, they lived at Seven Lakes Community, West End, N.C. They were very active in tennis and golf. In 1997, they moved to Twin Lakes Community, Burlington, N.C. She was very active in tennis at Olde Forest Racquet Club in Elon, N.C. for many years.

Mrs. Thieme is survived by her son, Robert H. Thieme Jr. and his wife, Catharine, of Mexico, her daughter, Carol L. Daugherty and her husband, Jonas, of Shallotte, N.C.; three grandchildren: Jason Terry and his wife, Lisa, of Wilson, N.C., Heather Furer and her husband, Stan, of Efland, N.C., Abby Schoenfeld and her husband, Zach, of Raleigh, N.C.; six great-grandchildren: Jackson, Kailyn and Grace Terry, Oliver Furer, and Gunnar and Marianna Schoenfeld; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date.
