Maurice John “Jack” Heine passed away January 27, 2021 at the age of 89. He was born in Saint Bernard, Ohio in 1931. As a young boy, Jack worked as a mechanic at Greenly Garage. This experience was what built the foundation for Jack’s future. He was a veteran of the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division, “Screaming Eagles”. After his time in the military, Jack went to work for Ford Motor Company in the Transmission Test Center followed by General Motors as a traveling instructor, teaching all aspects of engines and components to General Motor employees. In 1968 Jack and family moved to Florida where he oversaw and managed several large marinas. He went to college, completed four years, earning a degree and becoming a teacher. Jack subsequently then started the first Tech Marine Engine and Technician program, the first of it’s kind, at Eau Gallie High School in Melbourne, FL. Jack and Nancy made the move to New Bern, NC in 1979 where he ultimately became Chief Test Engineer and Warranty Customer Service representative for a premiere Yacht manufacture. This allowed him to travel the world, sometimes with Nancy, in maintaining the order. His time with Nancy, both at home and traveling, was precious and special, all while providing customers with the professional resolve on performance issues before finally retiring. Jack was a devout Catholic, and a loving husband and father. He will be sorely missed.
