Thomas Mebane Rabon

Thomas M. Rabon, age 84 of Leland, passed away May 29, 2022. He was born November 18, 1937 to the late Herbert and Sadie Rabon. Thomas was a US Army veteran and worked many years in home construction. He also did welding, forestry work and farming.

Thomas enjoyed camping, fishing, vegetable gardening and collecting HO model trains. He was an avid UNC Chapel Hill basketball fan. Thomas loved to travel with his wife Cindy and enjoyed eating at good, country food buffets. He had a big heart and was always willing to help those in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two young brothers; two infant sisters; sisters, Emma Rabon Young, Nola Rabon Monahan; brother, William Lee Rabon; special friends, Billy Rogers, Tom Maultsby.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Cindy) Rabon; sister, Margaret Rabon Benton; step children, Dustin Weary, Jeremy Weary and Kristina Weary Montgomery; special friends, Tommy Sullivan, Rudy Sullivan, and Spencer Lanier; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at three o’clock in the afternoon at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 603 Ocean Hwy E., Bolivia, NC 28422. Robert Main officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
