

Adriano Fernandez Barrera was born on September 8th, 1923. He first greeted the world in Balayan, Batangas. His parents' names were Jose Antonio Barrera and Josefa Fernandez Barrera. He was raised in Cavite City with nine siblings named Gantimpala Barrera, Estrella Barrera, Benjamin Barrera, Justiniano Barrera, Luz B. Arias, Ramona Barrera, Soledad Majam, Jose F. Barrera and Neptali F. Barrera.
As a young man, Adriano met and fell in love with his sweetheart Donata P. Remos. The two happily exchanged wedding vows on January 31, 1953 at The Justice of the Peace in Kawit, Cavite. With loyal and empathetic hearts, the two shared many loving years of marriage.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Adriano worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Adriano was blessed with four children. He had three sons named Reuben, Andrelito and Ruel and one daughter named Ruth. He worked hard toward raising his children in a positive and nurturing environment. Later in life, Adriano was blessed with the joy of four grandchildren named Marc, Paul, Leah and Ruth Anne.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, Adriano enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Adriano worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. While he worked several jobs over his lifetime, Adriano’s primary occupations were working as an AC/R Technician and Fisherman. Adriano's work gave him the privilege of traveling all over the world. He worked in several Asian, European, African, Middle Eastern and North American countries.
Like all people, Adriano had his favorite things in life. One of Adriano's all time favorite activities was fishing. He was a great innovator of fishing on fish fens. His passion turned him into an excellent fisherman.
When it came to entertainment, Adriano enjoyed a number of different things. He very much enjoyed sports and athletics. He liked watching baseball games and stayed active by playing volleyball and swimming.
Adriano Barrera left us on April 21st, 2011. He passed away in San Diego, California due to congenital heart failure. He is survived by his loving children Reuben and wife Luz, Andre and wife Bessie, Ruel, Ruth and husband Gil; and his grandchildren Marc, Paul, Leah and Ruth Anne. A funeral service was held at The Little Chapel of the Roses on April 25, 2011. Adriano was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
