

Alfred M. Madison passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 following a prolonged illness. Al was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his passion for athletics, and his accomplishments as an educator.
Al was born in Yuma, Arizona on September 5, 1940 to Oscar and Irene Madison. He graduated from Yuma Union High School and then attended Cal Western University on an athletic scholarship in football. He achieved degrees in education including a Masters Degree and Ph.D. from United States International University. Dr. Madison is remembered for his many contributions as a teacher and administrator with the Chula Vista Elementary School District.
He will be deeply missed by his loving family including his wife, Vera, and his children Denise Frazier, Darlene, Vanessa and Mark Madison along with his grandchildren, Kim, Aaron, Zachery and Cassie, his brother Oscar and sisters, Thelma Madison and Peggy Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Clareese.
Viewing will be held at The Little Chapel of the Roses in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, CA from 5:00 to 9:00 PM on Saturday, December 11. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 12, at 11:00 AM at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
