Beatriz “Mamang” Labo Dizon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend. God called her home on November 6, 2021 at the age of 86. She took her final breath at home surrounded by immense love and family.
She was born on April 23, 1935 in Olongapo City, Philippines. Growing up, she was active in church where she would meet and fall in love with her future husband. They later married on November 15, 1959 and together were blessed with six daughters and one son.
Beatriz wanted a better life for her children, so in 1982, she and one of her daughters migrated to the United States which her late father made possible. Through their hard work and perseverance, they were able to bring the rest of their family to San Diego and settle down.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Beatriz. She enjoyed tending to her garden, cooking delicious Filipino dishes, and fun get-togethers with loved ones. She was also fond of shopping, getting her hair and nails done, and always looking her best no matter where she went. Her family loved hearing her tell stories especially about her life in the Philippines where she often visited. Most importantly, Beatriz had a big heart and beautiful laugh that will forever be cherished by the many lives she has touched.
She will be lovingly remembered by her 7 children: Zenaida (Lher), Lydia (Chito), Corazon (Dante), Lelani (Jeff), Analiza (Ador), Grace (Art), and Aris (Aleeza); 17 grandchildren: Robert (Raquel), Raymundo (Ann), Jaygee (Kim), Dante Jr. (Kat), Michelle (Jed), Amy Rose, Darcy, Aaron (Liz), Michael Gabriel, Abigayle, Michael Jude, Darrien, Michael Jr. (Anna), Alexander, Audrey, Alana, and Aeden; 8 great-grandchildren: Rachelle, Erica, Robbie, Raezian, Jorley, Rachael, Olivia, and Kaycee; her honorary daughter Charito; and her surviving siblings. They will miss their Mamang/Ate Bath deeply, but are eternally grateful for the time they spent with her and all the wonderful memories they have shared.
Beatriz has reunited with her beloved husband, Raymundo M. Dizon; and her parents, Faustino and Dolores Labo, in Heaven.
