DOB: 6-19-50
Ben was born in Mexico City; he was the second of seven children born to Nicolas Cisneros Partida and Ligia Sosa de Cisneros. He grew up without any luxuries but in a home full of laughter and love. After finishing college his job moved him to The Mexican Caribbean, which he liked very much, to later return to Mexico City and then move to Minnesota. He always wanted to step foot in a foreign university, so he was happy to move to St. Paul to learn English and reside at the dorms and has always talked about how beautiful Minnesota is. He loved it.
After Minnesota he came to California. He lived in a couple of San Diego areas before meeting his wife Laura and moving to the South Bay. Laura and Ben got married in March of 1983 and had son Juan Pablo on Dec-85 and Daughter Ami Natalia, in Dec.-87.
Before Ben and Laura had children, Ben started his own business. It was a brave thing to do, but brave is what Ben was.
Benjamin loved the outdoors. He loved to BBQ –he owned 6 BBQ grills and used them all, he loves to go for walks, but had to stop because his health did not allow him to continue. He would be so proud when he would go for long walks.
Ben was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma three times in 2 ½ years. He was a strong warrior. He never missed work because of chemotherapy. And he was very much liked at the chemotherapy suite and by his doctors. He also fought COPD, which is a terrible disease. Ben died from complications of severe COPD but remained in remission of his COPD. When the treatments stopped working and the only alternative was to be intubated, he decided not to continue fighting a fight he knew he could not win. It was an intelligent and educated decision. Just like him, intelligent and educated!
He died surrounded by his wife, children and mother in law. He knew how loved he was and he knew his family was going to be ok. He will be deeply missed, as he was a fine, well liked individual.
Rest in Peace, Jesus Benjamin Cisneros
