Benjamin E. Little

Benjamin Evans Little was born on July 28, 1970 in Fresno, Ca to his parents Richard and Sherry Little. He was the second eldest of four children, with older sibling David, and younger siblings Megan and Spenser.

Even as a child, Ben was spirited, funny, outgoing, outspoken, and always a little mischievous. As a child, he was always interested in something. For example, with neighborhood friends and his siblings, he directed and filmed several movies. He took art lessons and painted, was an avid Dungeons and Dragons’ player, a member of the debate team for a brief period in high school, and a natural athlete. Throughout his life, Ben continued this trait and was the kind of person who could excel at whatever happened to interest him at the time. He would develop new hobbies and interests and devote himself religiously to them - whether surfing, working out, cooking, and IT and computers. For one of his latest projects, he was custom designing a skateboard deck he planned to ride around his neighborhood in Pacific Beach. He also enjoyed traveling, and spent time in the Caribbean, New Orleans, China, Korea, India, Greece, and Istanbul.

After trying a couple different paths, Ben eventually found his career as an IT Security Engineer. Once he found his niche, he excelled. He inherited his parent’s work ethic and was always committed to his work. He effortlessly picked up technical topics, and had a salesman’s charisma.

Ben is credited by friends as having (as one person posted on his memorial site), “one of the best senses of humors of all the people i ever met.” But Ben also endured difficulties in his life. Early on, there were the sudden deaths of his father and older brother David. Later on, Ben was pivotal in taking care of his mother Sherry when she fell ill. When Sherry passed away last year, Ben felt this loss deeply. He was still working through his grief when he left us, so suddenly and far too soon.

Ben was a dynamic, unique person who touched the lives of many people. He will be deeply missed. Ben leaves behind sister Megan Little, brother Spenser Little, niece Brittany Roberts, and nephews Richard Pinnick and Kai Williams.
