

Cherrie had seven siblings; five sisters, Eugenia, Brigida, Josefina, Hermina and Carmen, and two brothers Celestino and twin brother Domingo. Cherrie was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings sharing many life experiences over the years.
Cherrie made the critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Villa Verde High School in 1951 and went to college. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Luna College in 1955.
On January 21, 1961 Cherrie exchanged wedding vows with Lodivico Suyat Cacayan at Municipal Court of Quezen City in the Philippines.
Cherrie was blessed with four children, two sons, Victor and Lodivico and two daughters, Lucerna and Cynthia. Cherrie worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Another blessing for Cherrie later in life was the gift of nine grandchildren, Monica, Melissa, Joseph, Matthew, Daniel, Anthony, Vanessa, Victoria, Kaila, and one great-grandchild Nathan.
Cherrie enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were gardening with specialization in roses, dancing, Filipino cooking, BBQ-ing at home, she loved her cats, loved to help family and friends, loved helping her kids with sports and band activities. She also enjoyed taking her kids to Disneyland, SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, Del Mar Fair, and to frequent trips to Balboa Park and Belmont Park. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Cherrie passed away on January 21, 2012 at San Diego, California. Cherie died due to End-Stage Liver Disease. She is survived by her first husband, Lodivico Suyat Cacayan, her children, Lucerna, Victor, Lodivico and Cynthia, and her nine grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Chula Vista, California on February 3, 2012. Cherrie was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary in Bonita, California.
