Biographie

Clarita Fama Cabal, age 87, of San Diego, California, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. She was born in San Juan, Noveleta, Cavite, Philippines on June 28, 1933. Clarita was the third of eight children, the oldest daughter, of the late Herminio Fama and Mercedes Balay. Her deceased siblings are Abelardo, Rodolfo, Leopoldo, Gregoria, and Esmeraldo with two surviving youngest sisters Imelda and Digna.

Clarita attended the Noveleta High School in Cavite. She was an exceptional seamstress and was working before she met her late husband Ernesto Samin Cabal who was from Iba, Zambales. They got married in Kawit, Cavite, Philippines on October 11, 1959. Clarita was survived by her four children, 10 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Her oldest daughter, Erna, passed away at a young age of 13 on August 9, 1974. Enrique, the oldest son, married to Margarita Yaptinchay with their children Raul Soriano married to Ida Marie and son Matteo; Abigail Soriano with Luis Javier Estrada and son Luis Enrique; Anne Beverly married to David Oblima with sons Jacob and Jordan; Ernestine and Maren Claire. Edwin married to Nanette Reyes with their children Alyssa Michelle married to Hanson Tran; Alexa Taylor, and Alessandra. Evelyn married to Carmelo Salazar with their daughter Chanelle and son Eullys. Eireen married to Adriel Ademis.

After marriage, Clarita became a homemaker and took care of her growing family. She continued to make dresses at home and later in life she helped make her granddaughters’ Polynesian costumes. She migrated to the United States of America on April 1986 and settled in San Diego, California. She worked as a seamstress for several years until she was able to retire from working. Clarita’s talents were many, she was an extremely accomplished seamstress, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who loved to entertain and attend family gatherings. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and children, and raising her grandchildren. She was a loving, caring, thoughtful, supportive, and generous mother and grandmother.
