Cristeta "Ising" Tomeldan Almoite

Cristeta was born on July 12, 1945 in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines. She was the daughter of Francisco Tomeldan and Purificacion Fajardo Tomeldan. Cristeta grew up in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines with her older brother, Armando F. Tomeldan. She was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her family and they shared many life experiences over the years.

A typical teenager, Cristeta had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Binalonan High School in 1961 and continued higher education, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Centro Escolar University in 1964.

On December 10, 1967 Cristeta exchanged wedding vows with Benjamin Farinas Almoite in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines. Cristeta and Benjamin were blessed with two sons, Benjamin Tomeldan Almoite Jr., and Bernard Tomeldan Almoite. Empathic and loyal, Cristeta was committed to making her family happy, working hard to be a good wife and mother. She and her husband Benjamin would renew their wedding vows in 1992 for their Silver Anniversary.

Fortunately, Cristeta enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Cristeta worked diligently and did her best to succeed at work. Her many occupations included working as an Elementary School Teacher, Homemaker and Research and Development Supervisor. Cristeta always did what was necessary in order to get the job done.

Cristeta enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were bowling, playing mah-jong, watching TV and movies, dancing and playing cards. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.

Cristeta passed away on February 4, 2012 in San Diego, California due to natural causes. She is survived by her husband Benjamin F. Almoite, her sons Benjamin T. Almoite Jr. and Bernard T. Almoite, and her daughter-in-law Andrea Johnson Almoite. A Memorial Service was held at The Little Chapel of Roses, at Glen Abbey Mortuary, in Bonita, California on Friday, February 10, 2012.

Simply stated, Cristeta was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Cristeta leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Cristeta T. Almoite.
