Elena Bernaldez Flores

She is predeceased by her parents, Manuel and Estrella Bernaldez, and her siblings, Antonena Teruel, Norma Sarrosa, Thelma Bernaldez, Eva Bernaldez, Lina Abadiano, Manuel Bernaldez Jr, Romero Bernaldez, Ramon Bernaldez, and Sandy Bernaldez.

Elena is survived and dearly missed by her husband, Angel Ladesma Flores of 52 years; and their children, Mike (Jennifer), Michelle (Russ), and Mark (Jae Anne). She will also be forever cherished by her 8 grandchildren, Alyssa (Elijah), Nina, Liam, Jazmin, Elias, Jayden, Miley, and Ethan.

Born on July 22, 1954, Elena lived in Iloilo City, Philippines, where she met her husband Angel Flores. They married, and moved with their three children to San Diego, CA where she resided for the remainder of her life.

Elena had many passions in her life. She loved to cook for others and took pride in its ability to bring people together for a good meal and quality time spent. This passion of giving to others was also found

in her active role in her local church for many years. Elena loved to dance as well, forming local community groups to line dance with her husband. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and sewing, but most of all, she loved devoting her life to her Catholic faith and to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

The Flores family is grateful to the nurses and doctors at Sharp Memorial for doing all they could to treat her and provide the utmost comfort to both Elena and her loved ones.
