Elizabeth San Nicolas was born in Manila, Philippines to proud parents of Godofredo and Marciana Toledo. She was the second of four siblings with Tet, Josephine and Maryann. Her strong foundational faith in God started at home and was strengthened through her private school education at Scholatica’s College and St. Mary’s Academy. She was blessed to move with her family to San Diego in 1974 as her parents sought a better life for the family.
When she met her husband of 31 years, Kenny Sr and knew he was the one. They were inseparable and their love for each other was unconditional. They were blessed with 3 beautiful children, Kenny Jr., Melanie and Matthew. She was the best G-ma to her precious grandson, Jordan Joseph. Her love for her children was endless. Liz found her love for sports playing basketball, tennis and softball while at Sweetwater High School where she made lifelong friends. She was fortunate enough to build friendships that are rare and deep.
She loved to sing and dance, If anyone knows her, "I Will Survive" is her anthem and always gets people around her smiling and laughing. She had this way of lighting up a room with her jokes and comments. With a clever skill of spin on words and finding humor in the most mundane things people looked forward to her presence. Her smile , positive vibes and personality always lit up a room. She went out of her way to say hi and make people feel special. From opening her house to people who needed shelter, to finding donations for a local convent, to volunteering to help those in need. So many speak of her generous acts of kindness and selflessness, these will never be forgotten.
