Erlinda "Nina" Michelle Martinez

November 15, 1968 – October 17, 2023

Erlinda or Linda left to be with the Lord at 9:48 PM on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. She was born in San Diego, California on Friday November 15 1968 to Armando Sr. and Diana Martinez. She was preceded in death by her sister, Amanda, and her father, Armando Sr. She is survived by her mother, Diana C., brother, Armando Jr., her sisters, Carmen and Franchesca, her nephews, Armando III, Andruw and Azariah, her niece, Diana “Baby D”, her great-niece, Esther, and her god-children, Hadassah, Thalia, Ethan, Tatiana, Jaysena, Tiffany and Derek.

Linda and her family moved from San Diego to The Dalles, Oregon when she was 12 years old. There, she went on to high school and graduated from The Dalles High School in 1986. She moved back to San Diego in 1987 after attending her freshmen year of college at Oregon State University. She began working as a teachers assistant with the San Diego Unified School District in 1987. She remained with the district until March of 2022. Her other jobs include a seasonal job at the San Diego County Fair every year for about 14 years as well as a receptionist type job at the Portuguese SES Hall for their Festa each year for more than 25 years. Linda has always been independent and very social. She made friends easily as she was a good conversationalist. Her personality was like a magnet. She was friendly, caring and genuine. In her 30 plus years of service with the school district and her many years of service with the fair and Festa, she formed many friendships and made the people in her life feel like family. Although she didn’t have children of her own, she loved all children just the same. She will surely be missed by everyone who knew her as Erlinda, Linda, Lily, Er, Sister, Sissy, Mija, Nina, Friend, and Best Friend.
