Ervilla Manuel Gonzales

Ervilla M. Gonzales was born Ervilla P. Manuel on May 6, 1941 in Tacloban, Leyte, Philippines to parents Nazario T. Manuel and Florentina (Perez) Manuel. Ervilla grew up with her three sisters: Niceta M. Revita, Purificacion M. Cruz, Emelita P. Manuel and three brothers: Nazario P. Manuel, Rodolfo P. Manuel and Benjamin P. Manuel.

Ervilla married Emilio Corpuz and together they had three children: Cedric (Rosalie) Corpuz, Selwyn Corpuz and Radcliffe (Michelle) Corpuz. Later on in life, Ervilla met and married Jose Gonzales and her family eventually grew to include three step children: Joel Gonzales, Jojo Gonzales and Jinky Gonzales.

Over time Ervilla's family grew to include her grand children and great-grandchildren: Rosemarie Corpuz Rawlins, Constance Corpuz, Brandon Corpuz, Christian Corpuz, Caitlyn Corpuz and great-grandchildren Kiani Rawlins and Malachi Rawlins.

In addition to her busy family life, Ervilla was a business owner. She owned and operated Bella's Guest Home. She was also a life insurance broker and owner of Family First Financial Services.

During her free time, Ervilla enjoyed bowling, tennis, softball, knitting, sewing and crafts, gardening, cooking as well as collecting stamps and coins.

Ervilla passed away in San Diego on March 1. 2015 from renal failure.

She is survived by her most recent husband, Michael Gherke, her three sons, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her step-children and numerous friends and family.
