He is predeceased by his parents Fructoso Calupe and Adelina Torres, wife Norma Calupe, son Henry Calupe and his six siblings.
Survivors include his two daughters Lynn C. Kennedy and Cynthia C. Riego De Dios (Maximo), and three sons beloved Henry A. Calupe, Alexander A. Calupe (Paz) and Kenneth A. Calupe (Melissa) all of San Diego, California. Other survivors include 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Fernando was born in Cavite City, Philippines and was married to Norma A. Calupe. He worked in the Engineering Department as a Surveyor for Clarks Air Force Base in Manila. Fernando and Norma came to the United States and became U.S. Citizens. Much of their lives was spent in areas all over California before settling in San Diego. Fernando would say when he got married to Norma that it was his proudest family moment.
A memorial service will be on February 22, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at Glen Abbey Memorial Park.
The funeral mass will be held February 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church and burial will follow the funeral at Glen Abbey Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m. in Bonita.
