Francisca Garcia Serrano

Nacida en Monterrey, Nuevo León, cerca del icónico Cerro de la Silla, Francisca llevó consigo su herencia, fortaleza y calidez a lo largo de su larga y hermosa vida. Estuvo casada con su amado esposo, José Inés Serrano, por más de 60 años—una unión construida sobre la devoción, la resiliencia y un amor profundo.

Francisca vivió la mayor parte de su vida en su rancho en Jamul, California, donde cuidó no solo de su familia, sino también de la tierra que la rodeaba. Fue una jardinera talentosa que disfrutaba pasar tiempo entre sus plantas y flores, encontrando paz y alegría en la belleza que ayudó a crear.

Conocida por su carácter fuerte y su corazón generoso y vibrante, Francisca vivió cada día con gratitud y profunda devoción a su fe católica. Le encantaba cuidar de los demás, a menudo a través de su excepcional cocina—una fuente de consuelo y conexión para todos los que la conocieron. También era hábil con sus manos, tejiendo y haciendo crochet con cariño para familiares y amigos. Bendecida con una hermosa voz para cantar, llenó muchos momentos de música y calidez.

Francisca fue la orgullosa abuela de 10 nietos, además de bisabuela de 15 bisnietos, y se sintió especialmente bendecida de tener una tataranieta, un logro que atesoraba y del que hablaba con profundo orgullo. Su familia fue el centro de su vida. Le sobreviven sus amadas hijas: María Guadalupe Serrano Ríos, Leticia Andrea Serrano Pugh y Patricia Serrano Luján. Su legado de amor, fortaleza y fe continuará vivo a través de ellas y de todos aquellos que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla.

Se llevará a cabo una velación el 17 de enero de 2026, de 11:00 a.m. a 1:00 p.m., en Glenn Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, ubicado en 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. El servicio funerario se realizará el mismo día y en el mismo lugar, de 1:00 p.m. a 2:00 p.m. Posteriormente, se llevará a cabo el servicio de sepelio de 2:30 p.m. a 3:15 p.m.

Francisca será recordada por siempre por su generosidad, su alegría, sus cantos, la belleza de su jardín y la calidez que llevaba a cada hogar que visitaba. Su familia encuentra consuelo al saber que ahora descansa en paz, reunida con sus seres queridos y sostenida en el abrazo de Dios

Francisca Garcia Serrano, age 94, of Spring Valley, California, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025. Born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, near the iconic Cerro de la Silla, Francisca carried her heritage, strength, and warmth with her throughout her long and beautiful life. She was married to her beloved husband, Jose Inez Serrano, for more than 60 years—a partnership built on devotion, resilience, and deep love.

Francisca lived most of her life on their ranch in Jamul, California, where she nurtured not only her family but also the land around her. She was a gifted gardener who loved spending time among her plants and flowers, finding peace and joy in the beauty she helped create.

Well known for her feisty spirit and vibrant, generous heart, Francisca lived each day with gratitude and deep devotion to her Catholic faith. She loved caring for others, often through her exceptional cooking—a source of comfort and connection for all who knew her. She was also talented with her hands, knitting and crocheting lovingly made items for family and friends. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, she filled many moments with music and warmth.

Francisca was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren, as well as a great-grandmother of 15 great-grandchildren—and she felt especially blessed to have a great-great-granddaughter, a milestone she cherished and spoke of with deep pride. Her family was the center of her life. She is survived by her loving daughters: Maria Guadalupe Serrano Rios, Leticia Andrea Serrano Pugh, and Patricia Serrano Lujan. Her legacy of love, strength, and faith will continue to live on through them and through all those fortunate enough to have known her.

A Visitation will be held on January 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Glenn Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. Funeral service is scheduled for the same day, at the same venue, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Following the funeral service, a committal service will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Francisca will be remembered always for her generosity, her joy, her songs, the beauty of her garden, and the warmth she brought into every home she entered. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones, and held in God’s embrace.
