

Gabriel Maranan Cesicar was born on March 25, 1939 in Maitim 1st, Amadeo, Cavite Philippines. He is the 2nd child of Catalino and Felisa Cesicar. He had 5 brothers, Apolonio, Jose(deceased), Milquiades, Pedro and Irineo. He had 4 sisters, Dolores, Adelaida, Miguela and Juaquina.
He finished 6th grade in Malitim Elementary School. After that he helped his family on the farm.
On October 12, 1962 he married Bonifacia Bayot, at the age of 23, at Amadeo Catholic Church in Amadeo, Cavite. They were blessed with 6 children: Luisiano, Maria Luisa, Mary Jane(deceased), Roberto, Magdalena and Maribeth. He had 9 grandchildren: Karl Margarette and Kurt Cesicar, Daryl and Darlene Vales, Robmark and Kenjie Cesicar, Delthon and Danica Reyes. Kasumi Simone Sanvictores.
He provided for his family by farming together with his wife, Bonifacia. Even though he didn’t have much money, he worked hard to make sure his children could have an education. How hard did he work? He planted 3000 coffee trees in one week by himself! He turned the rice field into pineapple, papaya and banana farm for regular harvest. He continued farming until he moved to San Diego in October 22, 2004. He was a very quiet man; a man of few words. He was very kind, loving and generous with his family and to others. He loved to sing and watch baseball games. His favorite team was the San Diego Padres. He had a strong faith in God to the last day of his life.
Gabriel (tatay Abeng or Ama) Cesicar peacefully passed away on July 11, 2013 due to lung cancer at David and Maria Luisa’s home in Chula Vista, CA.
He is survived by his Wife Bonifacia, Daughter Maria Luisa and her husband David Vales, and granddaughters Daryl and Darlene Vales who lived with him for 8 yrs until his death. He is also survived by his children in the Philippines, Luisiano (wife Rosalie) Roberto (Partner Marjerie), Magdalena (Husband Anthony) and Maribeth (husband Jay) and grandchildren, Karl Margarette, Kurt, Robmark, Kenjie, Delthon, Danica and Kasumi Simone.
Funeral Services in San Diego:
Viewing: Friday, July 19, 2013, 5:00pm to 9:00pm. At 6:00pm there will be a Vigil Mass and Rosary
Location: Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Rd, Bonita CA 91902, at the Chapel of Roses.
Memorial Mass: Saturday, July 20, 2013 @ 2:00pm.
