He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1968, including service in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, and later made his home in San Diego, California.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Eugenia OBar Bellar.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Gene Clark Bellar; his daughter, Sandy Bellar; his stepchildren, Paula Souza and Paul StAmand; and his grandchildren, Brittni, Carol, Tonya, Jason, Chad, Cody, and Jami along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Gene took joy in fishing, tending his garden, smoking his own beef jerky, and cracking macadamia nuts from the tree he planted in his backyard. Most of all, he cherished his family. His steady presence, quiet strength, and enduring love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
