

Aubrey Eugene Napier, “Gene”, entered his eternal heavenly home on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022. Gene leaves behind his 5 daughters; Debi Lee of Burleson, TX, Kim Thomason of Granbury, TX, Leslie Taylor of Gilbert, AZ, Tina Napier of West Hollywood, CA and Victoria Napier Morrison of Fallbrook, CA. Gene also leaves his 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren along with his nephews Lonnie Napier, Bill Napier, niece Stephanie Watts and 9 great nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Lou Napier. They lived their life together in Chula Vista, CA.
Gene was born in Ada, Oklahoma on Sept. 3, 1935, to Jack Bige and Fannie Mae Napier. He was the youngest of 3 sons. His older brothers Alonzo “Lon” Napier and Billy Jack Napier preceded Gene’s passing. Gene’s nephew/adopted son Jack Slade Napier also preceded his death.
Gene served in the US Navy for 4 years during the Korean War. He worked briefly as a barber and for the US Postal service before his 35-year career as a bus driver for The San Diego Transit Company. He also served as a union officer for several years.
Gene was a strong man of faith, and he served the Lord at the First Freewill Baptist Church of Chula Vista for several decades.
Gene was a devoted husband, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, uncle, friend, and man of God. He will forever live in his family’s hearts.
Gene will be laid to rest on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, at Glen Abbey Cemetery, in the Chapel of Roses. A viewing will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The chapel memorial service will begin at 1:00 pm.
