Their love blossomed during a time when the world was changing rapidly, but their bond remained steadfast, symbolizing what true partnership looks like.
A proud mother, Helen is survived by her two sons, Gary and Dennis Olshefski. She found immense joy in the lives of her grandchildren: Sarah Olshefski, Rachel Robles, Elizabeth Quitania, David Hurst Jr., and Thereasa Hurst. Helen was also a cherished great-grandmother to Alexis Beckworth, Ray Marcellus, and Ileona Rose, and she had the honor of being a great-great-grandmother to Asher Rose. Helen graduated high school and went on to make history in the workforce as a pioneering woman. She became the first female forklift operator for Yale, breaking barriers and proving that determination knows no gender, and enjoyed riding her Harley on her offtime. Her strong work ethic and dedication set an inspiring example for her family, instilling values of perseverance and integrity in them.
In her personal life, Helen had a passion for adventure and exploration. She and Peter adored going on cruises, traveling to far-off places, and experiencing the beauty of the world together. After Peter's passing, Helen continued to embrace life, finding happiness in her garden, where she cultivated her beloved roses. Gardening was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of her nurturing spirit and love for beauty in all forms.
