She married “Bud” Hall in Yuma, Arizona on May 22, 1954. She moved to Charleston, Illinois, and lived with Bud’s parents while he fought in the Korean War. Bud and Irene made their first home in Charleston, and their children Bill and Terri were born there. They moved to Poway, California in December 1965. Years later they moved to Chula Vista.
Irene worked various jobs while raising their children. She worked for JC Penney, Sony Cabinets, Travel Lodge, and at Point Loma Nazarene University where she retired after 22 years. When Irene retired, she moved to Temecula, California. After retiring Irene began crafting. She specialized in making beautiful silk flower arrangements and greeting cards which she enjoyed selling at craft shows. She also volunteered at Gateway Nazarene Church where she was involved with Women’s Ministry, MOPS and also decorated the church at Christmas and for various church functions. Until this December, Irene always made Christmas treats for Bud and Bill’s coworkers to enjoy.
Over the years many people referred to her as “Mom” as she generously took them under her wing.
