

Jacqulyn was raised with one sibling. She had one younger brother, Charles A. Gage. Jacqulyn was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her brother. She and Charles experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Jacqulyn had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Chula Vista High School in 1961. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. After high school, Jaqulyn attended Beauty College.
On February 27, 1982 Jacqulyn exchanged wedding vows with Donald W. Peterson in Las Vegas, Nevada. Empathic and loyal, Jacqulyn was committed to making her new family happy.
Jacqulyn worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Jacqulyn was blessed with three children, two daughters, Susan Lee and Sharon Ann, and one son, David Wayne. She was also blessed with nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Fortunately, Jacqulyn enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Jacqulyn worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was supervising at the Supply Department on North Island. She also enjoyed the time she spent working at the Chula Vista Star News. Jacqulyn always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Jacqulyn enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were rollerskating and working and playing on her computer. She founded and hosted a Spades Club (Wide World of Spaders) where she was able to connect with people all over the world. She loved helping and providing entertainment for all the club members. She also enjoyed being on "Facebook" where she could connect with old and new friends as well as create and maintain her cyber farm and café. Above all, her favorite activity was spending time with her family which she loved very much.
Jacqulyn passed away on August 30, 2010 at Sharp Hospital in Chula Vista, California. Jacqulyn fought a brave battle against lung cancer. She is survived by her husband, Donald Peterson; children, Susan Lopez, David Hartman, and Sharon Hartman; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; mother, Ithyl Gage; and brother Charles Gage. Services were held at The Little Chapel of the Roses on September 13, 2010. Jacqulyn was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, Jacqulyn was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Jacqulyn leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Jacqulyn L. Peterson.
