It is with profound sadness that the family of Joaquin Fune announce his passing. He was born in San Narciso, Philippines, the second youngest of eleven brothers and sisters. He joined the U.S. Navy after high school and proudly served for 27 years retiring as YNCS, Yeoman Senior Chief.
As a resident in San Diego County for almost 60 years, Joaquin was an exceptional cook and loved to garden. He enjoyed singing, and his fun sense of humor kept many of his compadres and comadres in laughter as they celebrated their lifelong friendships.
He is survived by Adelaida Ebalo, his wife of 66 years; sons Joaquin, Jr. (Judy Marasigan) and Michael (Nina Granja); daughters Thelma (Fred) Reindollar, Susan (Tom) Chouinard, and Catherine (Kevin) Schinhofen; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
