

John grew up in Kansas City, was educated at Rockhurst High School and then attended the University of Missouri where he received his degree in Civil Engineering.
He worked at McDonald Douglas for a few years and then was enticed to move to San Diego to work for Rohr Industries where he stayed for thirty-three years. By this time, he had married his wife of fifty-eight years, Jean and had two daughters, Karen and Debbie. (Debbie preceded him in death). The family grew to include four grandchildren and one great grandson.
John enjoyed and excelled in many activities including tennis, camping, running and Bridge. He made life-long friends while pursuing these activities...and many enduring friendships occurred during his more than twenty-six years as a "friend of Bill Wilson".
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, intelligence and perseverance. He will never be forgotten and will be remembered always by those his life impacted.
"May the Lord hold him in the palm of His hand".
John Edward Meaney, Jr. son of John and Bettye Meaney of Kansas City, Mo. died recently after a long battle with cancer.
