

Jose was raised in Kawit with eight siblings named Pacifico Solis, Concepcion Solis, Rosalina Soriano, Agapita Saradpon, Consuelo Dantes, Felicitacion Solis, Lope Solis and Ricardo Solis. Growing up together, he and his siblings shared many special life experiences over the years.
Jose attended and graduated from Jackson High School in Olongapo City. After high school, the next big step in a person’s life is heading off to college. Jose enjoyed his college years. Though it was a challenge with all of the academics and responsibilities he was able to manage the balancing act. Jose attended the Naval Architecture Marine Engineering Institute. There he studied extremely hard and proudly earned his Bachelors Degree in Marine Engineering. This was a grand accomplishment for Jose and his family since he was the first to achieve a college education. He set an example and proved the importance of education for his family which was soon to come.
Falling in love is a huge milestone for any person. Just knowing that you have met that special someone is a magical feeling. Jose experienced that with his sweetheart Miguela Pallera. The two exchanged wedding vows on March 7th, 1954 in a Catholic Church of Silang, Cavite. The two proved their love and devotion to one another by celebrating over fifty happy years of marriage.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Jose worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Jose was blessed with four children, Athenie P. Solis, Belinda S. Delossantos, Cielito S. Mabeza and Jose P. Solis Jr. He worked hard toward raising his children in a positive and nurturing environment while teaching them the importance of strong family values. Later in life, Jose was blessed with the joy of twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Jose enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities. He loved farming, which meant taking care of his dogs, cats, pigs, turkeys, chickens, ducks and quails. He also spent a lot of time gardening in the backyard of his home. Finally during his bed- ridden days, he loved listening to countless hours of old country music. These were just a few of his favorite things in life.
Jose Solis left us on April 10th, 2011. He passed away in the comfort of his home in San Diego, California after fighting a battle against urinary cancer. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Miguela. He is survived by his children Athenie P. Solis, Belinda S. Delossantos, Cielito S. Mabeza and Jose P. Solis Jr; his grandchildren; his great grandchildren; as well as many other loved ones and friends. A funeral service was held for Jose on April 20th, 2011 at The Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel. Jose was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
