Our beloved mom, grandmother, sister, and friend Judith Forsythe walked into the arms of Jesus on February 4, 2022 at the age of 63. Her son and daughter were able to be at her bedside when she passed. Although we know that she is pain free and at peace, she will be deeply missed here on earth.
Judy was born to the late Carol and Thomas Forsythe on September 26, 1958, in Brighton, Mass. She had three sisters, Kathy, Dolly, and Carrie with whom she had the sweetest bond. Dolly would even call her “my twin.” Judy married William Macomber when she was 16 years old and went on to have 3 children, William (Bill), Robin, and Sarah. They chose to raise their children in Chula Vista, CA on Madison Ave. There, they would create friendships that lasted a lifetime. Judy became a single parent when her and Bill divorced 7 years later. She would go on to re-marry Michael Vandergriff in February of 1998. They decided to part ways 5 years later. Judy took on the role of mom and dad and worked hard to support and provide for her children. Although she was tiny at just 4 ft 11” tall, she always said she could take her kids “down” if they were misbehaving. Judy was the mechanic when the car broke down, the nurse when the kids were sick, and the best cuddler with her grandbabies. In her spare time, she cross-stitched beautiful pictures, crocheted blankets and scarves for her grandkids, and grew the most gorgeous flowers and plants.
In addition to being a loving mother, Judy also dedicated the last 14 years to her work as an Instructional Assistant for Special Education at Bonita Vista Middle School. She cherished all her friends and showed unending grace to everyone she came in contact with. Judy’s love was limitless. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, and loved sharing the love and grace of our Savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. Now that she has passed, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Judy’s physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey with Jesus in Heaven.
Judy joins her parents Carol and Thomas Forsythe in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members, including her 3 children, William Macomber, Robin Marroquin, and Sarah Macomber, daughter-in-law Nadia Perez, son-in-law Angel Marroquin, 7 grandchildren, Francisco Cassanova, Zoe Cassanova, Elyssa Madrigal, Jacob Marroquin, Anthony Marroquin, Isabella Marroquin, and Aidan Macomber, 3 sisters, Kathy Brandon, Dolly Lakin, and Carrie Budde, and brother-in-law Rick Brandon, and many nieces and nephews.
“As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God... I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8
