Judy was born and raised in San Diego, where she built a life full of warmth, energy, and joy. A devoted mother of three, she remarkably completed her Master’s degree while raising her children, a testament to her determination and resilience. She worked in the BioTech industry, where she was respected not just for her work, but for her vibrant spirit.
Judy loved to sing and dance like nobody was watching. She was the heart of every gathering, known for throwing the best parties and filling every room with laughter. She loved to play softball with her coworkers and was never without a smile—or a selfie. But above all, what she loved most was spending time with her friends and family, whom she cherished deeply.
Judy is survived by her three children, whom she adored beyond measure: Sabrina May Persona, Santino Blake Persona, and Slade John Persona. She shared a strong and lasting bond with Juan Martin Persona, the father of her children and a lifelong friend, with whom she navigated parenthood with deep love and mutual respect.
She also leaves behind her beloved siblings, John Janda and Jayne Janda-Timba, and her cherished parents, Genevieve and Ralph Janda.
To list all the lives Judy touched would be like writing a novel—she made everyone feel like family, and her presence left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.
A service to honor Judy’s life will be held on Friday, June 6th, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Rose Cremation Garden at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. Immediately following, a celebration of life will take place at her home, located at 1819 Via Las Tonadas, San Diego, CA 92173. All who were touched by her vibrant spirit are welcome to attend and share in remembering the joy she brought to so many. In honor of Judy’s colorful personality, guests are encouraged to wear vibrant colors.
If you have any photos of Judy that you’d like to share, please send them to her son, Santino, at (619) 370-9725. The family also welcomes any songs that capture her spirit or bring her memory to life—music was one of her greatest joys, and sharing in that joy is a beautiful way to honor her.
