Barb and I would like to send our condolences to all of Ken's family and friends at this very unfortunate time.  I met Ken for the first time in September, 1971 for freshman move-in at Miami University.  We quickly started to build a great friendship that would last long after we graduated.  I think the words that describe Ken the best are caring, compassionate, dedicated (to family, friends and country), intelligent and outgoing.  If I have one memory of Ken, it is knowing why he does not have a period behind his middle initial.  I just want to say "anchors away" to one of the best friends I have ever had the pleasure and privilege to have known.  Ken (AKA) "Hippi" you will always be in our thoughts and prayers. Dear Hazel
We just learned of Ken’s passing today. Our friend, Sarah Sillin, let us know. We have shared this sad news with Gary & Kris Mount and Phil & Barb Singleton. All the men were at Miami University along with Sarah and me. I have old photos of all of us together but cannot access them until June. 
All that said, we have very fond memories of our young years with Ken. I was in San Diego with our son in 2002 as he was looking at colleges. I called Ken and we met up to chat. 
Maybe our names are familiar to you - maybe not. The important thing for you to know is that your husbands life impacted ours and we share in your grief.

Hazel, I know this is a painful time but stay strong because Ken loved you and will always be in your heart. Everytime I saw Ken at the commissary he was happy which was just about every Saturday. That tells me he was content with his life and that’s all a person can hope for. For the rest of Ken’s family I am sorry for your loss.

Ken was always shared his knowledge in making me a better Analyst but the best times were filled with laughter whenever we were golfing.
