Leoncia Pantig Adamos, 91 years old, also known as Lusing, Lucy, Nanay, or Lola, was born in Culis, Hermosa, Bataan, Philippines on December 8, 1934, to her mother Mercedes Simpao Yandoc and father Tomas Tolentino Pantig.
She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 18, 2026, in San Diego, California.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ludivico “Vic” Gabriel Adamos, with whom she shared 66 years of fruitful marriage.
Beauty and brains were among her many gifts. Lucy had a gentle presence and a warm smile that could uplift anyone. She had a remarkable memory and could even recite “Principles of Economics” and the “Gettysburg Address” word for word. Her hobbies included dancing, reading, cooking, walking, staying connected with friends through texting, and using social media even in her later years. She really loved her iPhone. She loved music, and tango was one of her favorite dances.
In her early years, Lucy faced many hardships that shaped her strength and character. Through perseverance, hard work, and quiet sacrifice, she overcame life’s challenges with grace. She often set aside her own dreams and opportunities so that others could thrive. She worked hard to support and to love others selflessly. Her life was a testament to resilience, humility, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Her motto in life was: “Climb not high, lest you fall.”
She was an Associate Editor and Treasurer of The Spearhead, Assistant Editor of The Dove, and Literary Editor of The Beacon. She also served as Vice President of a college organization in 1954. Leoncia was named Miss Liberal Arts from 1953 to 1954 and was crowned Miss NRJC (Naval Reservation Junior College) from 1954 to 1955, now, St. Columban College, in Olongapo City, Philippines.
Her ambition was to become a lawyer. She graduated with honors, earning an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. She served as Secretary to former Mayor James Gordon Sr. in Olongapo City during his term. She worked at the Navy Exchange in Subic Bay Naval Base for 13 years, serving as a sales representative, and later as a supervisor, prior to immigrating to the United States.
She is survived by her six children and their respective spouses: Susan (the late Elmer), Garland (Sherileen), Rex (Lisa), Marites Lulu (Edmon), Art (Marilyn), and Jack (Lelanie). She is also survived by Jacklane, whom she considered her own daughter. She is also survived by her sixteen grandchildren: Kimberly (TJ), Elmer Jr. (Amanda), Kyle, Victor, Gary, Reza (Peter), Crystal, Miralou (Kevin), Edeline, Arjay, Arlynn, Beth, Caleb, Noah, Zane, and Halleli; and her nine great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Cruz, Ashley, Taryn, Kaydence, Maya, Brooke, Ava, and Gabriella. All of whom are her living legacy and firsthand witnesses to a life marked by love as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Leoncia was a devoted believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, whom she faithfully honored as her Lord and Savior. During her 91st birthday, she shared three heartfelt prayer requests that reflected the desires of her heart: good health and long life, a deeper closeness to God, and unity among her children. These prayers continue to live on through her family, who carry forward her faith, her love, and her legacy.
