Lorenza De La Cruz Resma

Lorenza De La Cruz Resma was born on December 6, 1926 to Jose De La Cruz and Juliana Obias in La Paz, Leyte. She was raised in the Philippines with her sister, Marcela De La Cruz (deceased). She attended grade school and was able to complete up to the 6th grade.

As a young woman, Lorenza met and fell in love with Cristito Resma and the couple exchanged wedding vows on January 16, 1958. The wedding took place at St. Augustine Church in the Philippines. Together they built their new life and were blessed with eight children, Bill, Cristito Jr., Helen, Erlinda, Salvacion, Lolita (deceased), Lucena and Josefina. Later in life, they were blessed with the joy of twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Lorenza enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including dancing, baking and most of all, spending time with her loved ones.

Sadly, Lorenza left us on November 19, 2011. She passed away In National City, California after suffering a massive heart attack. She is survived by her loving children Bill, Helen, Erlinda, Salvacion, Lucena, Josefina, Cristito Jr. and their families. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A funeral service was held at The Little Chapel of the Roses on Monday, November 28, 2011. Lorenza was laid to rest at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.

Lorenza is an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a good mother and friend. Someone who was caring, giving and a vital part of everyone’s lives. Lorenza leaves behind her a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Lorenza De La Cruz Resma touched will always remember her with a smile.
