Lorraine was born in Bismarck, North Dakota to John and Magdalene Kaufman on October 18, 1929. At the age of twelve, the family moved and settled in San Diego, California. Lorraine attended Our Lady of Peace Academy and then graduated from San Diego High School. On July 20,1949 she married the love of her life, Armando "Pat" Miramontes. They were married for 64 years, never leaving his side until his passing in October of 2012.
Lorriane was a homemaker, talented seamstress, avid reader, and enjoyed spending all her time with her family. She was involved in the Las Palmas PTA and enjoyed organizing the annual Halloween carnivals where she made handsewn gingerbread men for prizes. Her daughters also enjoyed the beautiful wardrobe of handmade clothes for their barbie dolls.
In the early 1970's, Lorraine became a certified nursing assistant and worked at Paradise Hills Convalescent Hospital for six years. Lorraine's number one priority was always her family. It was her legacy, her pride, and joy. She will always be remembered for her kindness, patience and caring heart. She taught us by example to always love each other unconditionally.
Lorraine is survived by her two sisters, Arlette Poutous and Alice Londo; her brother Richard Kaufman; her six children, Dennis Miramontes, Paul Miramontes and his wife Linda Miramontes, Lorinda Meeker, Carol Miramontes, Patricia Nilson, Kenny Miramontes and his fiancé Claudia Peterson; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren....plus one on the way.
Mom, you will be missed greatly and your spirit will forever live in our hearts.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.glenabbeysandiego.net for the Miramontes family
