Lourdes Bulatao Untalan

Lourdes was born on July 30, 1932 to Eriberta and Isabelo Bulatao in Malasiqui, Pangasinan, Philippines. She was the second of eight children.

Lourdes attended Agno Valley High School and graduated in 1949. Following her high school graduation, she attended the Philippine Women's University (PWU) in Manila and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education. After graduation, she taught Home Economics at the Malasiqui Central Elementary School. Then, taught 5th and 6th grade at Aliaga Elementary School in Tabor, Malasiqui.

Paul and Lourdes met when they were asked to be godparents to Paul's niece, Melba, by Nieves Palaganas, Paul's sister and Lourdes' co-teacher. Paul and Lourdes wed on July 14, 1957.

Lourdes and her eldest daughter, Geraldine (Geneie) immigrated to the United States in 1960 to join Paul in Florida who was in the US Navy. The Untalan family moved wherever Paul was stationed, to Pensacola, FL to Norfolk and Portsmouth, VA, England and Hawaii, then to Calasiao, Pangasinan, Philippines after Paul retired from the US Navy in 1970.

In 1992, Paul and Lourdes returned stateside after all their children completed their college education and permanently settled in San Diego, CA.

God, Family, and Prayer were the cornerstones of Lourdes' life. She always encouraged her children and grandchildren to reach for their goals and that no matter what you do, give it your best.

Lourdes is survived by her loving children, daughters Geraldine, Pauline, Marilou and Patricia; son William; brother Melanio Bulatao; grandchildren Angela, Andrea, Connor, Courtney, Colin and Ally; great grandchildren Andrew and Angeline, as well as many other family members and friends who love and will miss her dearly.
