

Manuel Rico Ruiz, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 22, 1938 in Zamora, Michaocán, Mexico, the eldest of six siblings. Given that his father passed away when he was only 13 years old, Manuel found a way to help his mother, support his siblings, and became a father figure to them. Manuel lived a long, full life marked by devotion to his family, deep faith, and a quiet strength that guided those around him.
Manuel was known for his strength, kindness, joy, steady presence, and love for his family. He believed in hard work, humility, and the importance of caring for others, values he carried with him throughout his life. His family and friends will remember how sociable he was, his gentle humor, his tight hugs, his wisdom, and the stories he shared from a life well lived. In his early twenties, with the assistance of his beloved Uncle Jose Rico, Manuel moved to Tijuana, Mexico, which led to the ability to move to the United States, leaving behind his family and the woman he loved, Cristina. Through his courage and bravery, Manuel persevered, facing many challenges, including, language and cultural barriers, new customs, and societal differences. A true man of his word, he returned to marry Cristina, and they began building the life they had dreamed of.
After the tragic passing of his wife, Cristina, he was given a second chance at love with Rosa, who stood faithful by his side until his final days. He is survived by his beloved family, Rosa, daughters, Irma Lieras and Cristina Andrade, sons, Jose and Raul Ruiz, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Rosie and Sebastian Casas, who will forever cherish his memory. Manuel’s legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
Visitation to honor Manuel’s life will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a Rosary beginning at 12:30 pm at Glen Abbey Chapel of Roses.
Funeral mass and interment will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 12:30 pm at Glen Abbey Chapel of Roses. He will be laid to rest surrounded by those who loved him most.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time.
Manuel will be deeply missed, but his spirit, love, and example will remain with us forever. May he rest in peace.
