Margaret Mary Hitch passed peacefully on November 26. Born in Darby, Pennsylvania, she graduated from Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and proudly served in the United States Navy Nurse Corps.
She made her home in Bonita, California, where she and her husband of fiftythree years, LCDR James H. Hitch, USN, raised their family. Marge was lively, quick-witted, and happiest when her home was full of the people she loved. Her Catholic faith guided her life, and her family was her greatest joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James, her parents, Charles and Anna Lawrence, and her sister, Bernadette Fasone. She is survived by her sister Kathleen Walter, her children Meagan, Charles, Matthew, Carolyn and Mary Kathryn, and by twelve grandchildren who lovingly called her Mom Mom.
A vigil will be held on Friday, December 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. Prayer and rosary will be led by Deacon Will. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 27 at 10 a.m. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Both services will be held at: Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 450 Corral Canyon Road Bonita, California 91902
Marge will be entombed at Miramar National Cemetery, where she will rest alongside her husband, Jim.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org, Marge’s favorite charity.
We celebrate her life devoted to faith, family, and love, and we hold her forever in our hearts.
