It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maurice Ronald McMahon on February 10, 2025. “Mac” as he was known by his friends and family was born on April 27, 1942 to Ronald and Mildred McMahon (deceased) and spent his childhood in Revere, MA. Just prior to graduating Northeastern University in 1964 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, he married Louise Margaret Melzard (deceased). Mac worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for a few years before they loaded up their station wagon and moved across the country to San Diego for Maurice to continue his civil service career spanning over 38 years supporting the fleet where he retired as Executive Director of the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, Southwest. For many of his years, he served as Executive Director of NAVSEACENPAC.
Maurice was very active in Miss Softball America and AYSO soccer as his kids were growing up. Louise passed away in 1997 and Mac decided to keep working to keep busy. He helped Donna raise his grandson, Connor Karhut, and was active volunteering at the school library after his retirement.
In 2012, Maurice married long time friend Anettia “Louette” Mosley and they spent the next few years cruising the world. Later in life, they enjoyed watching their favorite shows together and spending time with family.
Maurice lived a fulfilled life, spreading love and joy to his beloved family and friends.
