Mila was a devoted wife to Laddy Quito, a loving mother to her three daughters—Milady, Helene, and Carolyn—and the proud and adoring “Lola” to her five grandchildren: Derek, Cruz, Leia, Jett, and Lei Anh.
Born and raised in the Philippines, Mila pursued a career in medicine, earning her degree in pediatric medicine. Though she was a skilled doctor, Mila chose to selflessly set aside her career to marry the love of her life, Laddy, and focus on raising their daughters. Together, they built a beautiful life that took them from the Philippines to Japan, Hawaii, and eventually San Diego, California.
Mila was a woman of quiet strength and immense generosity. She was known for her graciousness, kindness, selflessness, and big heart. While she never sought the spotlight, people were drawn to her gentle spirit and nurturing presence. She had a natural way of making people feel seen, loved, and cared for. She gave without hesitation—supporting not just her children, but many family members in the Philippines with their education and other endeavors.
She loved to travel—especially to the Philippines—and enjoyed visits to France, England, Singapore, and China. She also found joy in life’s simple pleasures: spinning the slot machines in Vegas and Barona, catching a Cirque du Soleil show, or indulging in her favorite snack—chips! Though she often joked that she couldn’t cook, Mila truly loved to eat with family and friends.
Her family will always remember her patience, her kindness, her big hugs, and her unwavering support. She taught them by example what it means to live with grace, love, and compassion.
Mila leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and generosity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
