

Nenita Toledo Aleta, 87, of San Diego, California, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister,grandmother, and aunt. Born on September 5, 1938, to Gregorio and Gliceria Toledo in Tabon, Kawit, Cavite, she was the youngest of nine children and was fondly known as “Nitz” by family and friends.
Nenita attended Far Eastern University for couple of years before working in the Auditor’s Office at the Rizal Engineering District in Pasig. In 1965, she immigrated from the Philippines, beginning a new chapter that would take her across the world. As a proud Navy wife, she supported her husband, Jose “Joe” Aleta, through multiple duty stations that brought them to Fallon, Nevada; Yokosuka, Japan; Seattle, Washington; and ultimately to San Diego, where they built a loving home. Nenita and Joe shared 61 years of marriage, a partnership defined by loyalty and unwavering love.
She is survived by her husband Joe and their children Jeannette Aleta, Oliver Aleta, and Ferdie Aleta with his spouse Becky, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Isabella and Santiago, who she helped raised and who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her sister, Esberta, and by her nieces and nephews who adored her.
Nenita was well known for her love of cooking and her exceptional cooking skills, which became one of the most enduring ways she expressed love. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, celebration, and the unmistakable flavors that only she could create. Whether preparing family favorites or hosting gatherings, she brought people together through food, generosity, and laughter.
Her life was defined by her quiet strength, her deep faith, and a profound commitment to the people she loved. Growing up in a large family she grew up with a sense of togetherness into every chapter of her life.
A visitation will be held on January 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Magnolia Room, located at 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902
A funeral service will occur Tuesday January 27 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St, Charles Church 990 Saturn Blvd, San Diego, CA 92154
A committal service will follow Tuesday January 27 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
