

Richard William Hynes was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend and someone special. To family and friends who knew his best, Richard will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Richard was born on March 17, 1954 in San Diego, California the son of Frida Mary Burch and Donald Joseph Hynes. Richard was raised in Bonita, California with one brother, Barry Edward Hynes. Richard was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his sibling and they shared many life experiences over the years. A typical teenager, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood, Richard graduated from Bonita Vista High School in 1972. Richard enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Richard was able to manage the balancing act. He earned his MMI degree from Southwestern College.
On September 9, 1999 Richard exchanged wedding vows with Myrna Maurine Roys in El Cajon, California. Empathic and loyal, Richard was committed to making his new family happy. While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Richard was blessed with one child, a daughter named Kimberly Ann. Richard worked hard to be a good Father to his daughter and he did his best to fulfill her needs, raising his daughter in a positive and nurturing environment. Another blessing for Richard was the gift of two grandchildren, John Rex and Allison Maurine.
How a person performs in the workplace can be a reflection on how they live their life. Fortunately, Richard enjoyed what he did for a living. He worked for Home Depot as a Sales Assistant for fourteen years. Showing a strong work ethic, Richard worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. He also worked as a Pressley Peterbilt – Big Rig Mechanic for twelve years and was self-employed for eleven years.
Richard enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. He loved riding motorcycles, riding bicycles, leathering, reading, fishing, hiking, camping and hanging out with his grandchildren and family. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
After a battle with cancer, Richard passed away at home on June 15, 2014. He is survived by his wife Myrna Hynes, his daughter Kimberly Ann McNeil, his grandson John Rex McNeil, his granddaughter Allie Maurine McNeil, his son in-law Chad McNeil, his father Don Hynes and his brother Barry Hynes.
Services for Richard William Hynes were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Memorial Service at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel in Bonita, California took place on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and was officiated by Bob and Barb McDonald. A Reception followed at the Little Lodge at Glen Abbey, Bonita, California, and Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Simply stated, Richard was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Richard leaves behind the legacy of a loving family, life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember him.
