Rizalina E. Francia, lovingly known to many as “Lina,” was born on June 19, 1935, in Paete, Laguna, Philippines. She lived a life marked by faith, devotion to family, and a heart dedicated to serving others.
Rizalina earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas, one of the Philippines’ most esteemed institutions. In 1959, with courage and determination, she journeyed to the United States—a trip that took three days of travel from the Philippines. It was a story she would recount as a reminder of God’s watchful care.
On November 7, 1962, she married the love of her life, Jose Francia, in Coronado, California. Their marriage began after they were set up on a blind date—an introduction that blossomed into a lifelong partnership grounded in love and faith. Jose preceded her in death on January 22, 2017.
Rizalina is survived by her beloved sons, David E. Francia and Jose “Joey” Francia, Jr., daughter-in-law, Sherylle; and her cherished grandchildren, Philip Albert and Margeaux Faith. Her family was her pride and joy, and she poured her love, prayers, and wisdom into each of them.
Above all, Rizalina loved the Lord deeply. She was a faithful witness and a true soul winner, never hesitating to share the message of Jesus with anyone she met—even strangers.
Rizalina E. Francia’s legacy is one of steadfast faith, sacrificial love, resilience, and generosity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and all whose lives she touched.
