After a courageous battle with complications from a series of strokes my beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend Robert Willis Chambers went to be with his Lord on December 3rd, 2019. He will be remembered for his corny sense of humor, faithfulness, compassion and loving ways as well as his love of animals, wrist watches, sweets and his pipes. My dad was my earthly Lighthouse with the Lord being my spiritual one.
He was born on February 16th, 1935 in Alabama, moved to California in his teens, and worked numerous jobs throughout his career including Gas Station Attendant, working on the Atlas missile at Convair, Gas turbine engines at Solar, and as a Salesman truck driver for industrial control at Gates Admiral/Aramark which is where he retired from. He loved to camp and travel in the Motorhome, antique and thrift shop browsing and shopping, tinkering around the house, yard and garage and fixing things including watches.
Survivors include his sister Lida, wife Cynthia, daughter Shawnie/Cindy Meeks (Dan), two step-sons Eric (Lizz) and Cameron, four grandchildren, Nicholas Popeney, Krisi Meeks (Issac), Lucas Popeney, and Cindi Meeks (Thomas), one great-grandson, Joshua Popeney, grand daughter-in-law Ronda Barona, heart grandson Pavel, heart granddaughter Sarah, two step-granddaughters (Caleigh & Meadow), numerous nephews, nieces, and many lifelong dear friends including Joe, Denver & Margaret.
