He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and many friends who were always entertained by his stories and great sense of humor. He brought the life to the party.
Robert (Robo) was born in Paradise Valley Hospital in National City on November 24, 1950. He was the third and youngest child born to Kile and Donna Morgan.
He graduated from Sweetwater high school where most of his energies went into socializing and playing sports. He represented the Red Devils on the football field and as first baseman on the baseball team.
Robo continued to play baseball at Chapman University as first baseman with Whitey Sims behind home plate and Randy Jones on the mound. Robo played briefly on some triple A softball teams such as Bud’s Athletics. He earned a BA in Communications from Chapman.
His good nature, wit, and bigger than life personality made him the perfect mixologist. While bartending at Mom’s Saloon in Pacific Beach in the 70’s he met the love of his life, Renee Johnson. Robo married Renee in 1981 and moved to Chula Vista where they raised their two daughters, Kelee Faye Morgan and Krystee Lee Morgan.
He went on to build and maintain properties in Chula Vista, National City, then expanded his investment endeavors across the nation. Robo retired early and focused on traveling the world with his wife and loved ones.
Robo had a huge and generous heart. He supported the Boys & Girls Club of National City, as well as Bonita Vista's Sound Unlimited with scholarships annually. He was “for everyone” and beloved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Renee, his parents Kile and Donna Morgan, his cousin Alan Dodson, his brother- in-law Bill Hawken, and his nephew Lance Hawken. Robo is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Krystee and Fernando De Souza and Kelee and Chuck Vail; his brother and sister-in-law, Kile Jr. & Judy Morgan; his sister, Janice Hawken; his nieces, Nicole Johnson and Loree Durham; and his in-laws, Glenn and Faye Johnson. He leaves behind seven grandchildren: Dominick, Ethan, Kaiya, Bria, Gavin, Jordan, and Chevelle.
Robo filled our lives with joy and laughter. His famous one-liners will live on through family impressions and continue to bring smiles to our faces. Thanks for the memories.
