Rogelio was born on April 23, 1945 in Cavite City, Philippines. He was the son of Aurora Cruz Robles and Pedro Legaspi Robles. Rogelio grew up with one sister, Myrna Cruz Robles. He was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his family, sharing many life experiences over the years.
A typical teenager, Rogelio had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Columban College in 1963.
On July 11, 1964 Rogelio lovingly exchanged wedding vows with Ligaya Andrade Bueno at Columban Parish Church in Olongapo City, Philippines. Rogelio and Ligaya were blessed with four sons, Joel, Rolly, Aldrin and Orestes. Empathic and loyal, Rogelio was committed to making his family happy. He worked hard to be a good husband and father and he did his best to fulfill this family’s needs. Another blessing for Rogelio later in life was the gift of nine grandchildren, Roxanne, Jr, Kassandra, Devy, Gwynne, Allison, Adrian, Erwin and David.
Fortunately, Rogelio enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Rogelio worked diligently and did his best to succeed at work. His primary occupation was in ship building. He was employed for Southwest Marine and NASSCO from 1995-2003 as a pipefitter, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Rogelio enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were watching action movies, watching TV, eating, reading books, comics and spending time with his family. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Unfortunately, Rogelio passed away on April 10, 2012. He is survived by his wife Ligaya Robles; his four sons Joel B. Robles, Rolly B. Robles, Aldrin B. Robles and Orestes B. Robles and his nine grandchildren. Services were held at Glen Abbey Mortuary Chapel in Bonita, California. Rogelio was laid to rest in Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
Simply stated, Rogelio was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Rogelio leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Rogelio C. Robles.
