Rosario Daluz Parales, known to all as "Rose", was born to Lucia G. Daluz and Jesus Daluz on October 14, 1926 in the outskirts of Manila Philippines in a town called Cavite. She was the 3rd oldest of 7 children.
Rose was married in 1949 to her beloved high school sweetheart, husband and soulmate Emilio G. Parales for 66 years. With Emilio joining the US Navy in the mid 1940's from the Philippines, they traveled the world together taking up residences in Vietnam and the United States: Maryland, Louisiana, New Mexico, Hawaii and finally California where they finally settled in San Diego, and then Chula Vista. Rose was proudly in charge of the all the moves around the world and US while giving birth to their 4 daughters, (They lost a daughter Mary, very shortly after her birth in 1953) while Emilio went ahead of the family to serve in the Navy. As they finally made their last residential stop in Chula Vista, Rose and Emilio gave birth to their last child, their son.. 10 years after the last girl at the age of 42.
Rose was a very proud mother, independent spirit, devout Catholic, and raised her all children teaching them respect and kindness. Rose was the ultimate self-taught seamstress, making hundreds of wedding and brides maids dresses over her sewing career. She was diligent and generous in her seamstress work, taking on neighborhood sewing tasks from the typical hem, all the way to the application of 1000's beads and sequins sewn on to a formal night gown.... ALL by hand.
Rose was part of the classic old-school traditions. She offered you a little something to eat, drink and took the time to sit and visit.. Rose and Emilio visited their long time friends in San Diego EVERY Christmas sharing her holiday desserts with them. She prepared food, providing plentiful amounts for parties and potlucks at Silver Strand State Beach in Coronado during the Summers.. She NEVER left the house without looking like a million bucks! She continued to run weekly errand to Sprouts, attending Church on Sundays at St. Rose Of Lima all while independently driving on her own.
The greatest and most treasured accomplishment that Rose is known for was her amazing cooking and baking. Even in this last year she was always researching and looking up new recipes to try then provide her large family with. She became a fan of the Food Network endlessly watching those programs to gain new cooking ideas to her already memorized traditional Filipino dishes that she prepared on request at any given time. It gave her great joy to cook for her family and warmed her heart to see them enjoy her creations.
Rose prided herself on her health, just as her husband Emilio did. Even at almost 90, Rose was dedicated in doing her aerobics DVD's 2 times a day. Once in the morning and then again in the evening. Favoring Tae-Bo and then, the ever popular Zumba. Turbo Beach Jam was her favorite.
Rose lost her beloved soulmate Emilio this year on January 6, 2016 after those 66 years of marriage, and then lost her 2nd oldest daughter Rowena, just 32 hours later on January 8th, 2016.
Today, Rose is survived by her last living sibling, her baby sister Marita from New Mexico, her 3 remaining children Rebecca, Marisa and Andrew. Her 7 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, All of whom she was SO PROUD to all hold as babies and then watch them grow... Also many cousins, nieces and nephews......
Taken too soon? Yes. But--- a life full of Love, joy, 3 generations of children, travel and quality? Without a doubt.
We are deeply missing you Rose: your tender heart. your tender touches, your classic beauty, and famous feasts...., but you are FOREVER in our hearts Rose. Unforgettable.. Now go and dance........... with "Daddy"... <3
