

Ruperto Reodica Oblepias was born on March 27, 1929 to Beato and Dionisia Oblepias in Luisiana, Laguna Philippines. Where he was also raised with seven siblings, Felina, Carlos, Serafin, Belen, Cesar, Tirso and Reynaldo.
Ruperto graduated from Jose Rizal College in 1953. He later continued his education by studying at Feati University where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering.
At a young age, Ruperto met and fell in love with Purificacion Zaide Esmas and the couple happily exchanged wedding vows on September 3, 1963. The wedding ceremony was held at Rosario Church in Pasig City, Philippines. Ruperto and Purificacion were blessed with 3 children, Perla, Deogracias and Eugene. Later in life they received the joy of six grandchildren.
Fortunately, Ruperto enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Ruperto worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. Ruperto was employed at Marcelo Steel for 25 years as a supervisor.
Ruperto enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various activities such as cooking, watching sport events, and primarily boxing, horse racing, Basketball and tennis games. Ruperto was always happy and willing to share his interests with others. One of his accomplishments was he was sent to Australia in 1984 to be trained on new technologies on grinding ball operations. Ruperto served in the Philippine Army while in his hometown. Ruperto was the kind of person who helped people in his home town of Luisiana Laguna, Philippines in getting jobs. Even in his failing health he insisted on helping his children financially and never asking for anything in return.
Ruperto left us on April 4, 2012. He passed away in the comfort of his home in Chula Vista, California. He is survived by his wife Purificacion Oblepias, his daughters, Perla Oblepias and Eugene O. Querido and his son, Deogracias Oblepias and daughter-in-law Arlene Joyce Oblepias. His granddaughters, Genel O. Querido, Jacklyn O. Querido, BeaLouise, Allara, Mikayla and Hannah and son-in-law Joel Querido. Services were handled by Glen Abbey Mortuary. A Memorial Service was held at The Little Chapel of the Roses in Bonita, California on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Ruperto R. Oblepias was later laid to rest at La Loma Cemetery in Caloocan City, Philippines.
